Water Pressure for Sprinklers

The Highland subdivision has ample irrigation water and plenty of pump capacity. However, the pumps take a few minutes (5-10 min) to adjust to large changes in water flow.  Based on the pump readings, too many homes start their sprinklers at 6am and 5am. (Likely the times initially picked by the landscapers).  Changing your sprinkler start time will improve your water pressure by: (1) starting outside of the 4:30am – 7:30am window; and (2) starting your sprinklers on a random minute of the hour (not within 10 minutes of the hour). Thanks for your assistance.”

WARNING!

There is a mirror installed at the end of 12th street (north of the basketball courts and north of Highland Subdivision) that some kids have been tampering with.  The mirror has been installed for safety reasons to help avoid collisions.  Neighbors have warned the kids and will report future tampering to the police for vandalism.  Please remind your children that this is there for safety reasons.

UPDATE!! IRRIGATION IS ON AND AT FULL PRESSURE AS OF 4/16/2025

The Emmett Irrigation District’s “TENTATIVE” date to have water available in the canal is April 1, 2025. However, this is subject to change and initially the water will have sediment with potential to clog sprinklers.  The Association plans on filling the pressure irrigation lines in the subdivision about April 7thand have operating pressure in the lines on or about April 10th. The Association will send an email when the irrigation lines are pressurized.

To be prepared for irrigation water the Association recommends:

  1. Turn your sprinklers off and/or close the valve serving your sprinklers (see picture). This keeps the initial flow of sediment from clogging your sprinklers and allows you to verify the system is working when you turn it on.
  2. Clean out the filter and periodically check it during the irrigation season. (see picture). A clogged filter is a frequent cause of low pressure to a home’s sprinklers.
  3. Please turn down your irrigation settings for the spring season and then gradually increase as the days get longer and hotter. It will only take a few days of watering at lower-than-normal settings at the beginning of the season. It is each owner’s responsibility to retain their water on site and to avoid runoff.
  4. Please keep an eye on the irrigation system in your back yard, especially if any construction was done while irrigation was off. If you become aware of excess water, please:

  • ·First, check that there is not a leaking sprinkler or excess irrigation on your property. Each owner is responsible for their own irrigation system.
  • · Next, please contact Rosemary DeMond 208-407-0233; rosemngmtco@gmail.com if you are not able to solve the issue; and
  • · In the event of an emergency, also call 208-365-4611 and email adam@rafterdot.com.
